At UT, a graduate coordinator does the following:

• Assist the Graduate Adviser and Graduate Studies Committee in the execution of their duties.
• Administer routine operations of the graduate program.

This basically means the graduate coordinator is the person who “makes it happen” for all the parts of the graduate program that aren't classes or research.
