UT has 17 libraries on campus, and has purchased a large number of Web library subscriptions.

Most CS-related book and journals are in one of the three libraries: the Perry-Castañeda Library (in PCL), the Engineering Library (in ECJ) and the Physics-Mathematics-Astronomy Library (in RLM). All of the libraries' holdings are searchable via the UT online catalog system.

The Web-based library journal subscriptions are automatically accessible from any computer on the UT Austin network. From off campus, you need to log in through a library proxy server.

Here are some of the more useful CS-realted journals (most these links go through the proxy server, so you may need to log in if you're off campus):

• IEEE Xplore – all IEEE publications
• SpringerLink from Springer-Verlag – includes LNCS
• ScienceDirect from Elsevier
• EBSCO Computer Source – a commercial CS article database
• IHS Standards Expert – many engineering standards
• Web of Science from ISI
• MathSciNet from the American Mathematical Society
• MetaLib – a worldwide library catalog search. When you find something in another library, you can request it via inter-library loan.
• Google Scholar
• CiteSeerX – be careful with this one, it often points to preprints or draft articles, not the published version.
